A Study Of . . . Washington NJ / DL&W Track Passing Washington House, #009 |
|
Shovels at the ready. The DL&W track of the Phillipsburg branch passing the original Washington House, at Railroad Ave. The old high line embankment, which held the original line to Phillipsburg until the line was removed in 1901, can be seen in background. The break in the embankment (seen between the tree and the house) was the underpass used to gain access to upper Railroad Avenue before the new line was constructed.
