13) Gardner Motor Co new car parade on E Washington Ave, Sep 26, 1929 (b+w glossy).  This method was used by the car dealer to announce the arrival of the new models. Too bad the weather was so uncooperative, but the show must go on.  (Photo by Harry Minassian; caption by Thomas Allen Kelley)

#16: scene soon seen

15) South side of E Washington Ave, showing Ford's Furniture & Carpet House, and eastward.  This is a great street scene, but the card was clearly a promotion for C R Ford's furniture store - the caption says, "Ford's Furniture and Carpet House", and uptop, a pointing hand and giant letters proclaim, "FORD BUILDING". Of course, since it was Ford who had the card printed, he can point out his establishment.  (Caption by Thomas Allen Kelley)
