Washington NJ: CHURCHES |

Part 1 | to Part 2 to Part 3 |

1) First Presbyterian Church, corner of W Church St & Taylor St, postmarked Jul 14, 1919. The sender of this postcard wrote, "The steeple of this church fell to the ground this spring. It fell in the street, and never struck a house, or hurt anyone."

2) First Presbyterian Church, postmarked Dec 13, 1907.
|
3) First Presbyterian Church. With the new 4-spire addition, which replaced the towering single-spire that was blown down during a storm in 1919. Confidentially, the old spire was far more aesthetically pleasing.

5) Borough's Early Methodist Church, E Washington Ave. This is a poor microfisch copy of a picture that appeared in the Washington Star Newspaper, but it is included so you can get an idea of the church that originally stood on the site of the present Methodist Church. Built in 1856, it was razed in 1894 to make way for the present edifice. Bodies buried in the adjoining cemetery were moved to the Washington Cemetery, on Cemetery Rd.

6) Methodist Church, postmarked Jul 2, 1906.
