A Study Of . . . Washington NJ / New Colvert And Tower At E Wash & RR Ave's, #006

#006 new colvert & tower at e wash & rr ave's

In with the new.  When the new colvert was completed on Dec 6, 1907, a new railroad control tower was built atop it, this one being much larger. It didn't stay there very long, however: in 1913, after not even six years of service, the tower was de-activated, and moved to Henryville, PA, where it resumed its duties as control tower.  (From the "Washington New Jersey Centennial History And Program"; caption by Thomas Allen Kelley)
