A Study Of . . . Washington NJ / Railroad Station Demolition, Sat, Oct 9, 1982, #007

#007 washington nj railroad station demolition

We now join our show, already in progress.  By the time the photographer found out that the destruction had resumed, the roofs were already removed from the structure. Even though it doesn't look like it took much more than a crash-boom-bang to de-roof the joint, the photographer was quite rankled that he missed this part of the operation. The whole situation of razing this building that was registered with the historic society, and thus, supposedly protected from such an ignominious fate, had an underhanded air about it.  (Photo and caption by Thomas Allen Kelley)
