A strong foundation upon which to build.  The date is June 6, 1939, and the Christine/Hannon house has been completely cleared away. Work is well along on the replacement structure: A United States Post Office for Washington NJ. The cornerstone was laid on Nov 18, 1939, with the official opening date being Dec 4, 1939.
